Since we have Chinese attorneys on staff, we are able to provide advice on legal issues in Japan as well as on transactions in China and other countries.

Advantages of an Advisory Retainer Contract
1. Prompt and Appropriate Advice
When you enter into an advisory retainer contract, you will be able to consult with us on an ongoing basis. This enables you to receive prompt and appropriate legal advice while maintaining the normal operation of the company.
You will receive prompt and appropriate advice while maintaining consistency with your existing procedures and transactions.
2. Convenient and Efficient Means of Consultation via E-mail or Telephone
When you make a request to our Firm, the usual process is:
- make an inquiry,
- schedule an appointment,
- meet with us at our office,
- explain and confirm the fees, and
- our Firm accepts the request.
On the other hand, if you conclude an advisory contract with us, we will be happy to consult with you by e-mail, telephone, or web conference.
3. Reasonable Reduction of Legal Fees
Each month, you will be able to consult with us until the upper limit on attorney fee (corresponding to the relevant fixed monthly advisory fee schedule below) is reached without paying additional fee, which leads to savings on legal fees.
In addition, if you enter into an advisory retainer contract with our Firm, we offer a 10% discount on attorney’s fees for various consultations, preparation of legal documents, legal research, etc., as well as a 10% discount on retainer fees and contingent fees on negotiation and litigation cases that we represent you in.
Advisory Fee Schedule
If you enter into an advisory retainer contract with us, you will pay a fixed monthly fee, but you may request various consultations, preparation of legal documents, legal research, etc. (*2) without paying additional legal fees until you reach the following amount (*1) each month.

*1. If the fee exceeds the specified amount, we will charge an attorney’s fee in increments of 15 minutes based on our firm’s fee schedule.
*2. Fees will be separately quoted for negotiation and litigation cases in which we act as your representative.
Examples of Consultation Services Offered
We offer the following types of consultations. For consultations on matters not listed below, please feel free to contact us.
(1) Requests for Drafting and Reviewing Various Types of Contracts
We provide consultation on the drafting of various types of contracts, including purchase and sale contracts, manufacturing outsourcing contracts, service outsourcing contracts, various types of license contracts, real estate purchase and sale contracts, and real estate lease contracts, as well as contracts for new businesses.
Since we have a Chinese lawyer on staff, we can promptly handle the drafting of Chinese-language contracts as well. We can also prepare contracts in English.
(2) Labor Issues
We provide consultation on labor issues, with a focus on employee dismissals, overtime pay issues, sexual harassment and power harassment, and employee misconduct.
(3) Consultation on Drafting of Various Internal Company Rules and Regulations
We provide consultation on the drafting of employment regulations, rules for the protection of personal information, terms of use for various services, and privacy policies.
(4) Consultation on Debt Collection
We provide advice on debt collection methods, drafting of content-certified letter, and drafting of simple documents related to debt collection.
(5) Consultation on Chinese Legal System and Transactions with Chinese Companies
We provide consultation regarding research on the Chinese legal system and transactions with Chinese companies. We also translate various documents related to transactions with Chinese companies, such as contracts, and conduct simple research on Chinese companies (limited, however, to information available on the Internet).
